An Overview of Speech and Language Therapy
In speech and language therapy, whether it be in private practice or in a school based setting, we are able to work on development and growth in many areas of communication.
These include:
- Articulation Skills (how we say our sounds)
- Voice Quality (is the voice too quiet or too harsh?)
- Stuttering Reduction (in both speaking and reading)
- Auditory Processing Skills (our ability to follow directions and understand things that are said to us)
- Expressive Language Skills (How we communicate verbally or in our writing)
- Receptive Language Skills (how we understand language and vocabulary including reading comprehension)
